Ready for the next phase in life after selling the home where she raised her children and moving into her new husband's home, this client had a nice budget to replace worn-out materials, install high-end appliances, and purchase the furniture of her dreams.
Honoring the 100-year-old Georgian style brick house, remodeled to have an open concept in 1999 with current materials, the new design concept was to revive the character of the home. Classic whites, soft grays and greens, and timeless materials including Bianco Carrara honed marble countertops, glass, a cast iron sink, chrome fixtures, and handmade bronze and glass cabinet hardware complement existing brick and plaster walls accented with molding detail and traditional touches.
To emphasize character, the pulls are handmade brushed bronze while the glass knobs tie into the round glass pendants and glass front cabinets. Cohesiveness being key, the marble countertop continues vertically as the backsplash and the Dupont Edge creates a subtle pattern with clean lines.
We also installed a Subzero refrigerator, KitchenAid trash compactor, and Bosch dishwasher all of which have panel fronts to match the cabinets for a seamless, integrated look. More than just beauty, this kitchen also features a Brizo Rook Chrome touchless faucet and an insta-hot faucet for an efficient cooking experience.
To finish the space, the classic McGuire Gondola counter stools are stained soft metallic and upholstered in a Perennials solution dyed acrylic in soft gray with dot pattern acrylic with chenille dots that connect to the round hardware, lighting, and soft tones of the marble.
